What Sealer to Use

If you’ve decided on a wet look sealer for your paver patio or driveway, the next step is deciding on which sealer to use. At SurfaceLogix, we have four different sealers that provide a deepened, wet look appearance. Read below for more information on each of these sealers to determine which one is best for your application.

If your pavers are installed on sand and have never been sealed before, you can use any of these products. If your pavers are installed over a concrete slab, we recommend using a penetrating sealer such as Cobble Enhancer. For previously sealed surfaces, we recommend using the same type of sealer (water based over water based, solvent based over solvent based) and applying a test patch to ensure proper adhesion.

Cobble Enhancer, Cobble Coat, Cobble Loc and Cobble Loc Matte

Cobble Loc

Cobble Loc is a two-part, water-based sealer that provides a wet look appearance with a semi-gloss finish. Cobble Loc is a low-VOC product so can be used in states with VOC restrictions, and is ideal for those wanting a more environmentally friendly product. Cobble Loc also allows you to pressure clean and seal in the same day as it can be applied on damp surfaces.

Cobble Loc Matte

Cobble Loc Matte is very similar to Cobble Loc. It is also a two-part, water-based sealer and gives a wet look appearance, but is formulated to provide a matte finish. Cobble Loc Matte can also be applied over damp surfaces so allows for same day cleaning and sealing.

Cobble Coat

Cobble Coat is a crystal clear, solvent based sealer that provides a wet look appearance with a semi-gloss finish. Because Cobble Coat is a solvent based sealer, it has a thicker consistency and can be used with our Non Skid Additive. If slipperiness is a concern for your area, such as pavers installed by a pool, you may want to use Cobble Coat so that you can add Non Skid to provide additional traction.

Cobble Enhancer

Cobble Enhancer provides a wet look appearance without sheen. Cobble Enhancer is a solvent based penetrating sealer, so it can be used in situations where a film-forming sealer would not be recommended, such as on pavers installed over a concrete slab. Because Cobble Enhancer absorbs into the pores of the pavers and protects from within the substrate, Cobble Enhancer provides a wet look appearance without any sheen.

What Level of Enhancement Can I Expect

For any of our wet look appearance sealers, you can expect a similar level of enhancement. To give you an idea of what you to expect, pour water on your pavers to see how dark they are when wet. A wet look appearance sealer will provide a similar level of enhancement.
